Do you want a bird’s-eye view of the market, your portfolio and your watchlist? Well, do not fear, because the new MY TOGGLE is here. My TOGGLE is a revamped view of your holdings and a holistic view of the market.
We got a chance to sit down with Lead Developer, Ali Tonbul, to chat about this feature and get to know a little bit more about him and how the project came to fruition.
TOGGLE: What makes My TOGGLE such an exciting release?
Ali: This new version of My TOGGLE will give users a better user interface and experience, it’s faster and easier to navigate, but also keeps users up to date with what’s happening in the market through live prices. A really nice feature is being able to see which assets are today’s top gainers and top losers.
Two years ago, when we first launched MY TOGGLE, it was just a notification center for insight alerts and now, with this new release, it offers so much more. A lot of lessons were learned from that first version, and we owe it to the users who were generous enough to do feedback interviews with us.
How does user feedback shape TOGGLE?
Our users and the information they share with us is central to how we develop and improve Toggle’s products. Feedback here is taken very seriously. It’s not uncommon for our founders to mention individual pieces of feedback during meetings, even if it’s something we don’t have the bandwidth to handle right now. Every week our tech team is busy gathering community feedback and releasing improvements based on what our users have to say.
How did you get started in tech?
I got my first computer at the age of 12, and since then, I’ve always enjoyed programming. I majored in computer science, and I’ve always just been involved in this world. It’s now been over a decade since working in this field. I’ve worked mostly at startups because I really enjoy working on varied projects at a faster pace. My other major in university was accounting, so it’s been really nice working somewhere that blends the two worlds of finance and technology.
What’s a typical day like for you at TOGGLE?
I’ll start my day around 6 and do the usual, stopping by the boxing club to get some training in before getting some coffee. I’ll do my cat dad duties, before preparing myself and the team for the day’s tasks. My role typically encompasses a lot of projects but I work closely with the engineering team, product managers and our UX designers. Having a global team can sometimes mean having some late night calls but I’ve learned to find a balance. It also helps having a punching bag at home to let off a little steam.
What should TOGGLE users look out for next?
Keep an eye out for more advanced features on Compass for Pro users but also new savvy features on the charting function for Copilot users. We’re always making new improvements to the site based on user feedback.
Lastly, the most important question: pineapple on pizza?
Listen, I’m not going to say that it’s bad on pizza but Giuseppe (one of our founders) might fire me for this, so I’ll say that it belongs in a fruit salad.
Thanks Ali!
